Welcome to Hooligan VI
Introduction
Hooligan VI is a corinthian crew who sails with the best crews in the world. Hooligan VI is a UK registered boat who's home port is Southampton. We sail Solent regattas, RORC and have competed in the Farr 40 European championships for the first time in 2008.
The Yacht
Hooligan VI is a FARR 40 One Design and was conceived as a high performance 40 footer that would gather the benefits of modern materials into a platform for adrenaline infused short course racing, as well as the capabilities of competing in the grueling offshore events. The design of the boat and the formation of Class Rules and Constitution proceeded in parallel allowing input from both the operator and builder; and in 2006 the Class rules were changed to incorporate mast-head spinnakers. The Owner/Driver class rule was an influencing factor in the conceptual phase of the design, encouraging the Farr40 towards easy to tune, flat-out racer, that would offer thrills and spills of big-boat racing...
Sailing 2009
Hooligan VI begins in year with maintenance at the Media yard in Cowes. We are then on the water with some early year training including the Warsash Spring Series. HooliganVI is pushing the limits in 2009 by moving the yacht to Sardinia in the Mediterranean to sail Farr40 one-design regattas with other internationally recognised crew and will be the only UK yacht in the event. Here we will compete in a number of events including Capri week, Farr40 Worlds and Farr40 Europeans. Finally in 2009, you will find us racing the RORC Middle Sea Race.

There is always a turn-over of crew on Hooligan VI, as will all yachts. Hooligan VI is always on the look-out for good crew that can bring new skills and experience to push Hooligan VI forward.
